Uzbekistan Love by Jason Hopfner :

Uzbekistan Love is a tribute to the journey I undertook last year, driving a 20 year old 970cc campervan (my beloved Bedford Bambi) with 5 people in a car built for 2 ¼ way round the world from London, UK to Ulaan Bataar, Mongolia via the former soviet states of Turkmenistan, Kyrgystan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

In the inherent ridiculousness and weirdness of such a drive, many experiences too far fetched to happen happened, a tiny part of which was captured on tape for an upcoming documentary , but the most memorable thing about the 10,000 miles trek was the reaffirmation of the kindness , hospitality and decency of most people (except that cab driver who nicked my sound recorder with all the sound files from the whole journey on the ride to the bloody airport). Other than that coont, I met wonderful people with life stories to make your head spin in countries I pray I have the good fortune to return to someday, hopefully with some Russian vocabulary beyond ‘b’ angliskie and ‘wodka’ , as great as those words are.
The songs on Uzbekistan Love were made in and around the time of this trip, and in some obtuse way act as a document to one of the most fantastic and indefinable experiences of my life!
